Angola’s Environment Minister, Fátima Jardim, and her cabinet colleague in charge of Hotels and Tourism, Pedro Mutinde, have held discussions in Luanda at the instruction of the president, regarding the promotion of eco-tourism in protected areas in the country.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the two Ministers agreed that boosting and promoting eco-tourism in the various conservation areas of Angola could provide numerous benefits to both ministries.
The Environment Minister said the chain of environmental actions involving tourism would help promote the complexity of national culture and strengthen the economy.
She also expressed satisfaction that over the 40 years of Angola’s independence, the environment sector had performed with rigour for a healthy and sustainable development of the country.
Jardim appealed for preservation of the environment, careful exploitation of resources and accepting the advice of awareness campaigns for sustainable tourism development.
