Angolan government wins African Airlines Association ‘Aviation 2013’ award

African AirlinesThe Angolan government has won the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) “Aviation 2013″, prize for the success achieved in the restructuring of the Angolan aviation sector.



This was disclosed by the Minister of Transport, Augusto Tomas, who is leading the Angolan delegation travelling to Mombasa, Kenya, to attend the prize-giving ceremony.



According to Tomas, the restructuring of the national flag carrier, TAAG (Angola Air Lines) included its certification by the National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAVIC) and the positive results it achieved during the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) inspection.



It also included the reactivating of TAAG’s affiliation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the rehabilitation, modernization and construction of new airport here which represented a great effort on the part of the government, which was taken into consideration by AFRAA, in awarding the prize to Angola.
