AP tourismChief Executive Officer and Managing Director of AP Tourism Himanshu Shukla said that eco-friendly solar-electric boats will soon be introduced at Venkatapuram Cheruvu in Tirupati.

The AP Tourism Department has signed a MoU with Dolphin Recreation, Udaipur-based manufacturer and importers of eco boats. The firm will run five solar shikar boats, one floating restaurant and one rescue boat.

Each of these boats can accommodate four adults and one driver and each round will be of 15 minutes duration.

In the evenings, the boats will be illuminated and tourists can enjoy noise and pollution-free rides with music playing in the background.

Mr. Shukla said, “AP Tourism has received huge response from tourists for boat-rides. Based on the demand, we have organised boat rides at Bhavani Island, cruise rides at Rajamahendravaram to Papikondalu and houseboat rides in Konaseema. We are expecting good patronage to the new facility at Venkatapuram Cheruvu in Tirupati.”
