Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett said that Jamaica is aiming to market its brand to the Republic of Armenia to attract new arrivals to the country. Mr. Bartlett was speaking at a recently held press conference in New Kingston and said that the partnership will bring new opportunities for a diversified local market and improve arrivals to the country. Discussions regarding the partnership were held when the minister visited Armenia to attend a meeting from October 1 to 4. Latest tourism trends, collaboration between the private and public sectors and promoting good practices in tourism were discussed in the meeting.
Other than that, important issues like future of tourism, cultural tourism, city tourism and 2017 being the year of International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development were also debated.
