This year 10 ASEAN nations are all focused on increasing their respective international tourism arrival statistics from 109 million to 120 million. Visit ASEAN @50, a regional tourism campaign is working as a major push to make this dream a reality. This campaign is solely geared toward attracting international tourists from Europe, Middle East, Japan, India and China. As per Devinder Ohri, President of ASEAN Tourism Association considers that ASEAN is one of the fastest growing regions in terms of travel and tourism.
To take this trend to a better level, World Travel and Tourism Council has requested the countries to improve their overall infrastructure. This year, the body would bring to the forefront local activities and unique cultural attributes of these nations in the international market including MICE market.
Laos is all prepared to inaugurate Mekong Tourism Forum in June this year. While talking about quality visitors, CCT Group founder Vichit Prakobkosol said “More quality tourists will head to Thailand. Meanwhile, we will strengthen the freely independent tourist and medical and wellness segments’’. More and more Vietnam is becoming one of the emerging tourism markets of the industry.
