AsiliaRenowned for its travel trends flaunting 15 luxurious lodges and camps in the nation, the tour operating firm Asilia Lodges and Camps have been awarded for its exclusive responsible tourism practices that is an honour from the RTTZ.

 

This Arusha-based brand has excelled in four major categories including the best in Female Employment and Gender Support thanks to Dunia camp in Serengeti, emerging as an unparallel pioneer in Youth Empowerment and Supporting Future Leaders in Conservation (Sayari Camp in Serengeti), scooping implementation of the Largest number of Sustainable Development Goals 2018 award (Matemwe Lodge in Zanzibar) and also was declared the Best in Climate Action 2018 (Asilia Lodges and Camps).

 

The all-women camp, Dunia Camp is has been pitched on major wildebeest migration corridor in the Central Serengeti enabling easy access to the spectacular Moru Kobjes and excellent sightings of fauna like big cats, leopard and rhinoceros.

 

The judges also went on to assert that by hiring more women as compared to men this brand has defied gender barriers in a field that is predominantly dominated by men.

 

Asilia’s Sayari Camp is situated on the plains of the Northern Serengeti and has bagged an award as the Best in Youth Empowerment and Supporting Future Leaders in Conservation through their innovative Twende Porini program.

 

The annual program has been hosting children from regional communities in Asilia’s camps and introducing them to conservation and tourism.

 

This company was also honoured for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in 2018.
