The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced today that Mark Meader has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing, Industry Affairs & Education. As Vice President, Industry Affairs since 2015, industry veteran Meader has spearheaded ASTA’s advocacy efforts relating to industry issues involving suppliers, technology providers, travel coalitions and government entities. The driving force behind much of the highly-rated content of ASTA’s annual Global Convention and Premium Business Summits, Meader will continue both event programming and industry affairs work supplemented with a broader focus on marketing ASTA, its sub-brands, events, products and services.
“This well-earned recognition of Mark’s leadership and commitment to our members better positions our senior staff team to enhance ASTA presence in the marketplace,” said ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby. “With a keen focus on creating high-value events, educating members and representing the agency community to suppliers, Mark’s promotion is a key part of the ‘new ASTA’ that will better serve our members and ensure that the travel agent value proposition remains at the forefront of everything that we do.”
A travel industry veteran with decades of global experience in the travel industry, Mark also serves as the Vice Chair of the WTAAA – the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance, an organization facilitating the exchange of ideas and information to the agency community across the globe.
