Expressing satisfaction in terms of receiving awards at TTF Surat, Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah explained that the state government is in the look out of developing off-beat destinations as attractive as the popular resorts like Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
“Though our main USP is Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg hill stations but we are also promoting picturesque locations. We have recently organized Gurez Festival to promote virgin beauty of this border destination,” he said.
Director tourism Kashmir expressed that road show participation and the travel trade fairs are significant as hundreds of well-known travel agents and tour operators all over India and world partake to sell and endorse destinations for vacationers.
“Negative publicity to Kashmir is affecting tourists flow and to offset that we have embarked on aggressive marketing campaign. Participation in roads shows and travel trade shows promotes our destinations,” he said.
