Atlantic Link Appointed to Represent NYC & Company in the Nordic Region

NYC & CompanyNYC & Company, the official destination marketing organization for New York City, has appointed Atlantic Link to spearhead its sales, marketing and public relations efforts across Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Karin Gert Nielsen, Atlantic Link CEO and Managing Director heads up the account, with John Migliorini and Ieva Zelca overseeing sales and marketing activity and Nanna Birkedal managing public relations efforts in market.

Atlantic Link is a market leader and the team is well positioned to inform the Nordic travel trade and consumers about all that’s new and exciting in New York City’s five boroughs,” said Makiko Matsuda Healy, NYC & Company’s Senior Vice President, Global Tourism Development.

“New York City is one of the world’s most recognized brands and we look forward to expanding Nordic visitors’ understanding of the destination through creative storytelling that highlights developments and openings of the ‘new’ NYC as well as our beloved iconic experiences,” added Chris Heywood, NYC & Company’s Senior Vice President, Global Communications.

“We look forward to showing the Scandinavian and Finnish travelers what New York City has to offer and most of all to increase tourism from the Nordic Region to the City. With even more seat capacity and direct flights between our region and New York City, our most important job is to increase tourism to the destination,” said Karin Gert Nielsen, CEO and Managing Director, Atlantic Link.

New York City welcomed a record 58.3 million visitors in 2015, including 12.3 million international visitors. This included more than half a million visitors from the Nordic region, comprised of 212,000 Swedes, 123,000 Danes, 111,000 Norwegians and 61,000 Finns.
