A famous northern Indiana tourist attraction that offers a quick look into the life and history of the Amish will carry on operating for the predictable future after an auction of the complex.
The new owners of Amish Acres’ tourism-related components explained that they are preparing to carry on using the facilities to organize stage events along with an annual arts and crafts festival but will probably make some changes.
Former U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman and two partners paid $1.55 million during Wednesday night’s auction for the 400-seat Round Barn Theatre along with other tourism-related components of the complex, which is situated 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of South Bend and includes historical cabins, barns and other structures.
