Sales in the Lufthansa Group will be restructured. In the future all premium brands i.e. Austrian, Lufthansa and Swiss will be represented by one sales team in the respective markets. This will lead to changes in the management in Austrian: Starting on August 1, 2016, Stephan Linhart (43) will assume the position of Head of Sales Austria within Lufthansa Group. Linhart is currently responsible for the international distribution at Austrian Airlines. The team managers for Sales Austria, namely Alexander Schnecke (business customers), Ines Waschl (tourism), Angelika Grubhofer (charters) and Nina Kuzmanovic (Group sales) will remain key account managers and thus the customary contact partners for the customers.
Kerstin Halfmann-Kleisinger (48), currently Head of Sales at Austrian Airlines, will move to Lufthansa Group Product Management and assume the position of Head of Lifecycle & Operations Onboard & Passenger Services. In this capacity, she will stay in the management team of Andreas Otto in the Group process „Passenger Experience & Product“ and have responsibility for all global service centers operated by the Lufthansa Group. Johannes Walter (37), who serves as Head of Sales Home Markets at the present time, also made a career leap to Frankfurt. After four and a half years in charge of Austria, he will assume a position in the Lufthansa Group. In his role as Head of Distribution Global Market Management, he will be responsible for the global, technological buildup of distribution channels in the B2B sector.
“I am pleased that we have been able to recruit Stephan Linhart to fill this key position as sales manager for Austria from our own ranks,” says Andreas Otto, CCO of Austrian Airlines. “In this way, we are attaching great importance to continuity and international expertise. In the future, Kerstin Halfmann-Kleisinger and Johannes Walter will be part of the top management team of the Lufthansa, too. We can be very proud of this at Austrian Airlines. I would like to thank both executives for their outstanding work on behalf of Austrian Airlines, and I wish them every success in their new positions”, Andreas Otto adds.
Stephan Linhart began his career in 1996 as a Passenger Service Agent for Austrian Airlines at Vienna Airport. Following a stint in punctuality management, the Viennese-born professional assumed his first management position in the field of sales for the Central and Eastern European region. In 2012, he was appointed to head the airline’s intercontinental sales, and has worked as Director International Sales since 2013.
After being trained as an expert in the field of air traffic, Kerstin Halfmann-Kleisinger launched her professional career at Pan American in Frankfurt, working in the field of air cargo sales. Following a stint working for Frankfurt Airport, the business administration graduate switched to Lufthansa Cargo in the year 2000, where she subsequently held various positions. In 2015, Kerstin Halfmann-Kleisinger was named Head of Sales at Austrian Airlines.
