To enhance interaction between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the two countries have initiated to develop tourism cooperation. The tourism associations of the two countries signed a memorandum. However, the memorandum was headed by Nahid Bagirov (Azerbaijan) and Nabijan Kasimov (Uzbekistan), the tourist associations of the countries. The tourism cooperation will function within the framework of the international tourist exhibition “The World of Leisure 2017’’ which took place in Tashkent this year. Information in the development of the tourism industry, exchanging experiences and arranging joint tours, mutual trips, and events to promote tourism, enhancing health tourism and fortifying tourist inflow are the main areas to focus in tourism cooperation program.
Installing banners of Azerbaijan’s tourism potential in the central streets of Tashkent in the coming days are the other prerequisites that the memorandum will look into. Besides, advertising will be strengthened on the leading TV channels of Uzbekistan as well.
Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan represented the stand of Azerbaijan at the World of Rest exhibition 2017. The rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and its tourism possibility are featured at the stall and reflected in the publications prepared by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism ministry as well. Visitors got booklets made to promote the Baku shopping festival at the exhibition.
