Shaikh Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the designation of President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Tourism, as the World Tourism Organization or WTO’s Special Ambassador for Sustainable Tourism, has been expanded until the year 2019.
Dr. Taleb Rifai, the Secretary-general of WTO declared the decision of the Organization in a letter appreciating her initiations in the delivery of her duties during 2017.
Shaikha Mai showed gratefulness to WTO for having confidence on her and assisting her in developing the infrastructure of Bahrain in terms of sustainable tourism via cultural pursuit to protect national heritage measured as the key identity of any nation and the source of its pride.
He equally appreciated for her contribution in dispersing the concepts of cultural-economic development, protection of the environment and her collaboration and role in promoting mutual understanding and international peace.
