Held on Sunday 28th February at The Brewery London, The World Spa and Wellness Awards presented Bad Ragaz with the prestigious title ‘Resort Spa of the Year: Western Europe & Scandinavia’ for its 36.5° Wellbeing & Thermal Spa. Launched in 2012, the World Spa & Wellness Awards ceremony recognises and rewards the work that the very best spas do around the globe. One of the leading honours in the industry, the awards acknowledge excellence of care, service and standards, and aim to inspire spas around the world and serve to raise global industry standards. Bad Ragaz fought off strong competition from spas in France, Norway and Ireland to win the impressive title.
The following evening saw Grand Resort Bad Ragaz achieve another accolade at the 2016 Tatler Spa Awards, held at the Corinthia Hotel in London on Monday 29th February. The resort received the esteemed title of ‘Medical Master.’ As commented by the 2016 Tatler Spa Guide, ‘Switzerland is about as ‘spa’ as a country can get. And the (very nutritious) cherry on top? Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, the ultimate five-star hotel-hospital hybrid. The world’s rich…fly in for the best procedures money can buy; everything from…cancer screening and urology, to dentistry and ophthalmology,’ so it’s no surprise that Europe’s leading Wellbeing and Medical Health Resort has been awarded the ‘Medical Master’ award.
As identified by the 2016 Tatler Spa Guide, guests can expect to receive serious hard-hitting medical results from the resort’s anti-ageing programmes, customised detox and weight loss treatments, wellbeing packages, and many more specialised offerings. With only eight spas receiving awards in this prestigious ceremony, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is enjoying its position as one of the top spa resorts in the world.
Director of Business Development, Kathrin Boerger-Bechtold, and Director of PR & Corporate Communications, Martin Leiter, attended the awards to pick up the trophies. Kathrin commented: “These two awards are the perfect recognition of our 175th anniversary of the thermal waters last year. The team at Bad Ragaz has grown organically over the years to give clients exactly what they want and need, be it holistic spa or medical expertise; we manage to embrace all sides of health. The two awards complement each other perfectly, in turn celebrating our holistic natural waters and healing spa through our medical expertise, shown through our expert therapists, doctors and all employees at the resort, the ideal ying and yang to one another.”
Nightly rates at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz start from CHF 245 per person sharing a double room. Rates include breakfast, welcome aperitif, use of the 36.5° Wellbeing & Thermal Spa area and Tamina Therme, fresh fruit and Ragaz water each day and daily fitness and relaxation lessons as well as VAT.
