In the days to come Bahrain will be a desirable and competitive holiday destination.
Bahrain is ready to welcome world-renowned hotel brands like One&Only, Wyndham, Fairmont, Vida, The Address, Ibis and Pullman. All the brand will make an entry within the coming three years.
The hotels will have the destination’s other big names such as the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and Sofitel for company.
Bahrain currently has an existing portfolio of 190 hotels and resorts with 18 five-star hotels, 48 four-star hotels, 35 three-star hotels and 81 serviced apartments and 11 resorts.
The hotel has an accommodation capacity of more than 16,500 rooms for visitors to the Gulf’s only island nation.
Khalid Al Rumaihi, chief executive at EDB commented on the development that the future investments in the hospitality sector will get new international hotel chains to the kingdom and profiles of existing ones will be raised.
The hotel capacity is expected to have another 4,000 hotel rooms by 2020, the gaps in the market related to the mid-market and luxury sector will be filled.
New visitors will be attracted to the Kingdom by creating new developments that will cater to the rising demands.
In 2016 Bahrain had a strong tourist growth, the number of tourist arrivals was 12.2 million showing an increase of six percent.
