Aiming at further strengthening the civil aviation links and cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bahraini Transportation and Telecommunications Minister, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA)’s President, Sulaiman Al Hamdan, during the Bahrain International Airshow 2016.
The MoU will enable the national carriers of both countries to operate 107 flights per week in both directions. This will have a positive impact on providing air transport services that meet passenger requirements of both citizens and residents.
The terms of the agreement will allow Gulf Air permission to operate flights to domestic airports, including Jeddah and Riyadh.
According to the agreement, Gulf Air will increase the number of flights to Jeddah to 28 flights per week, with 4 flights daily, and 35 flights to Riyadh with 5 flights daily, in addition to 37 flights per week to Dammam and 7 flights a week to Medina.
