Along with its overall strategy towards promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain as an ideal MICE destination, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) took part in the annual IMEX 2019, which was held at the Messe Frankfurt in Germany from 21 to 23 May this year. This exhibition is one of the world’s most important trade fair in the MICE tourism segment where international tourism offices, major hotels, exhibition and conventions venues, cruise lines, airlines, technology providers, MICE professionals and many more meet every year.
The Bahrain delegation, consisting of BTEA and major hospitality and tourism companies in Bahrain, presented Bahrain’s historical touristic features and advanced infrastructure that attracted a lot of interest from visitors who recognized Bahrain’s unique tourism as a chosen destination for exhibitions and conferences.
To quote Mr. Fawzi Tulefat, BTEA’s Director of Exhibitions and Conferences Marketing and Promotion, “The BTEA’s participation in IMEX 2019 comes as part of our active efforts to promote Bahrain and the new Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Centre as it is expected to be completed by the middle of 2021. With the growing infrastructure development for tourism and MICE, we seek to attract large-scale international exhibitions and conventions to be hosted in Bahrain and strengthen Bahrain’s position in the industry.”
The New Bahrain Exhibitions and Convention Centre was highlighted once more in this year’s IMEX series. The new Centre would be constructed near the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, and is anticipated to be completed in mid-2021.
The IMEX 2019 is an ideal platform for deals and investment, gathering over 3,500 exhibitors from over 160 countries around the world, and over 250 education sessions which attract more than 15,000 visitors from over 70 countries.
