Bateria de Castillitos to become major eco-tourism center

Tourists are traversing the winding roads that take them to the gun battery of Castillitos, based on the cliff of Cabo Tinoso, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.

This military barracks have housed men staffing gun battery, which have been deserted from the time it has remained out of services. However, now the facilities are subject to renovation with an aim to convert the site into a center for eco-tourism with net worth 362,000 euros.

At the time of restoring the barracks, the surrounding environment has not been disturbed at all so that once the restoration work gets completed, the site transforms into an amazing eco-tourism center with exotic landscape, flora and fauna. It remained an overlooked valley for long. The main idea is to offer accommodation for group visitors along with library, bar-cafeteria, class room and social venue by remaining true to the original military architecture.
