Bath is embracing the short days and dark evenings with a number of special events and things to do that can only be experienced after dark. Bath’s twilight hours will turn into a magical place with spa packages, displays and events that are certain to entertain, bring cheer and eliminate those winter blues…
Light to Light at the Holburne Museum
Light to Light (4 Dec – 5 Jan) is a free event and has been designed specifically for the Holburne Museum by lighting designer and artist Patrick Woodroffe. The Museum garden will host a spectacular display of LED lights of varying brightness and colour to create a rich and layered bed of light that ripples and dances to a sound track compiled and created by English composer Matt Clifford. Over the last forty years Patrick Woodroffe has produced lighting designs for an extraordinary collection of people including ABBA, Take That and The Rolling Stones as well as special events including the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympic Games. Put on your ‘silent’ headphones and immerse yourself in a performance of colour, light and sound.
Twilight Dinner and tour of Roman Baths
Take advantage of the city’s top attraction opening its doors after closing time and explore the ancient Roman Baths by Torchlight. The baths are an awesome sight by flickering torchlight and you can be sure to experience a magical and unique atmosphere. The package, which costs £38 per person, includes entry to the Roman Baths, an exclusive guided tour with a knowledgeable guide and a three course dinner in the Roman Baths Kitchen. The Roman Baths Kitchen is a stunning Georgian townhouse, lovingly transformed into a contemporary restaurant and offers delicious dishes such as West Country game hot pot with red cabbage and apple and spiced slow cooked belly pork with fried beans and Madeira sauce.
