Bird strike prompts emergency landing of JetBlue

jetblue flightA JetBlue flight was compelled to go for an emergency landing in Florida on Saturday following a collision with a few birds.


The flight 897 was travelling to Costa Rica when the pilot reported a probable landing gear issue, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s report to the local media.


The pilot stated that the plane that was an Airbus A320 might have collided with birds when it had left Logan Airport. The FAA also added the jet flew in a holding pattern off the east coast of Florida to burn fuel. Later on, it landed perfectly safely at Orlando International Airport around 11.25 a.m.


JetBlue is yet to make any official comments on this particular incident.


Currently, no other information is available in the investigation of this incident that led to the emergency landing. Maintenance crews are presently investigating the aircraft.


The passengers had to be accommodated on an alternative plane.
