The latest phase of work to construct the facility at Blackburn begins later this month with drainage, track and signalling work being carried out between now and Friday 10 February. Most work will be carried out during the day; however some work will be completed between 10pm and 6am.
Staff will be holding a drop-in session on Thursday 19 January between 4pm and 7pm at St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy, meeting room 8, 3 Towers Court, Duckworth Street, Blackburn BB2 2JR. Staff will be on hand to explain the work and to answer any questions that residents may have.
Lauren Jones, scheme project manager for Network Rail said: “The new train depot in Blackburn will support wider improvements across the North West to provide passengers with a better, more reliable railway.
“We understand that some of the work that we will be doing could be disruptive and I would like to thank residents in advance for their patience while we carry it out. If you would like to know more about the scheme then we’d love to see you at the drop-in event on January 19.”
