The riverfront neighbourhood in Ningbo, China’s busiest port was struck with an explosion early morning.
Around 30 people were injured and two were killed in the port city south of Shanghai that had building collapsed, littered streets with damaged cars and debris.
Investigations were on whether the explosion site was placed inside the building , the firefighters traced the blast to a hole in the ground where a toilet had been.
The district office announced that two people were killed and two were seriously injured, however more details were not provided.
According to media atleast 30 people were rushed to the hospital, it was observed that China frequently suffered deadly fires and industrial accidents which was blamed on negligence.
In some area the official safety crackdown have improved but many companies are yet to build.Prior to this in 2015 an explosion took place due to improperly stored chemicals killing at least 173 people in Tianjin located in Beijing.
The residential buildings were knocked down in the blast, it was reported that they were vacant and in the process of being demolished.
People may be there to collect scrap for recycling, bystanders mentioned that the probable cause of the damage must be a gas pipeline during the demolition work.
Although Ningbo gas company denied of any lines in that area, a white cloud of smoke rose above the explosion site that rolled across the nearby buildings.
