Tourism and hospitality professionals from around the globe spent much of last week in Sao Paulo, brought together by Latin America’s biggest tourism trade fair, World Travel Market LATAM. Like at every major B2B trade fair, exhibitors, participants and sponsors invested many hours and significant financial resources to promote their company and grow their industry network. The result: stacks of business cards and many promising new leads. The challenge: keeping track of every new contact, brochure, and update.
The solution: a travel technology company based in Switzerland claims to have it. 3BaysOver recently launched a completely free networking platform which has been designed exclusively for the global tourism industry, and where WTM LATAM participants can continue to network and stay up-to-date long after the last caipirinha has been served.
“We’re not being effective enough in the way we communicate the progress of responsible tourism in Latin America”, says Susana Inés Sandoval, founder and editor of Viajero Responsable, a blog and media site specialised in responsible tourism. She adds: “3BaysOver provides a powerful solution to improve how we communicate with the industry, starting with new contacts made at WTM LATAM. This is a welcome new tool that will boost communication, collaboration, and creativity in the responsible tourism sector”
Tourism professionals who weren’t able to attend the event in person can benefit just as much from the network, as they too can use the platform to connect and collaborate with existing and new partners. Indeed, 3BaysOver’s mission is to enable every tourism industry member to grow their network and build new partnerships easily and effectively, whether or not they have the time and budget to participate in fairs.
Tourism professionals who sign up to 3BaysOver immediately have access to potential partners from over 150 countries. Members can search for and communicate with business contacts, showcase themselves and their businesses by creating personal and company profiles, promote business events, and manage membership directories. And because personal profiles ensure that individuals maintain their contact information regardless of whatever career changes they may make, contact information never gets outdated.
Membership is open to all professionals from across the industry, from tour operators to hotel employees, suppliers to trade event organisers, and trade media to tourism boards. Access to the network is free, but is currently by invitation only, since 3BaysOver’s team ensures that all new members are active in tourism.
