From Feb 24th till 25th of this month, a two-day tourism meeting will be organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the AP Tourism Department. It is intended to highlight the possibility of tourism in this region and confer the city as one of the sought-after places for overseas as well as domestic travelers.
G.S Shiv Kumar, CII AP zone chairman on Monday said that the city played the role of a host to many events in the last two years, post bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. But he thought more focused ways and marketing efforts were required to highlight the city. 25 total destination promotion companies from various States were invited in the meeting to talk about strategies and different skills required to endorse ‘Brand Vizag’.
Neeraj Sarda, Convener of the Tourism Panel of CII said that CII had taken firm decision to support, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati, the three most important tourist places in Andhra Pradesh. They wanted to first start with Vizag and then repeat the strategies in the other two cities as well.
