Brasília (DF) received the itinerant seminar of Investe Turismo program, promoted by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with Embratur and Sebrae, this Thursday (July 25).

In addition to the federal capital, the municipalities of Cavalcante (GO) and Alto Paraíso (GO), which make up the Chapada dos Veadeiros, will receive actions to develop tourism in the region. Measures such as incentive to infrastructure investments, marketing support to destinations and assistance with access to credit lines and financing should be applied along the route.

MTur’s national secretary for Tourism Development and Competitiveness, Aluizer Malab, stressed the importance of the project to the sector in Brasilia, especially in this new moment in which the country lives.

“By incrementing this program and the way it is being designed, we are going to have a big surprise. It is an initiative that came to stay and to unite all the sections of Brazilian tourism. The important thing is that we understand this moment, enjoy and work on governance. Above all, the program seeks to build an image of Brazil and this needs to be done,” he said.

During the launch, the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal District, Vanessa Mendonça, thanked the support of the Ministry of Tourism and stressed that the union of the public and private sector is essential to leverage the travel sector not only in the DF, but throughout Brazil.

“What we are living here today, for Brasilia, is a unique moment in our history. For us, tourism can indeed transform and become the key of a destination. This meeting today will teach local governments and the entire trade that together we will be stronger,” he said.

Partner of Investe Turismo, the president of the National Sebrae, Carlos Meles, pointed out one of the main characteristics of the route and the importance for tourism development in the region.

Also present at the event, the director of Sebrae / DF, Valdir Oliveira, added that this can only be done with trade in the region.

“The more we recognize in the entrepreneur the value he has and the disposition he has, we will have a strong economy and we will fight unemployment,” he said.

Conceived by urban planner Lúcio Costa, with wide streets, blocks and sectors, Brasília concentrates the main monuments and attractions created by architect Oscar Niemeyer. Because of this, in 1987, UNESCO recognized the city as the world’s first modern heritage site. In 2017, the agency included Brasília in the Network of Creative Cities, with the title of Design City.

Located around the Federal District, the municipalities of Cavalcante (GO) and Alto Paraíso (GO) are mainly recognized for ecotourism, with trails, canyons and waterfalls of the Cerrado Conservation Unit, which is also recognized by UNESCO as a Natural Heritage.

The destinations still have great biodiversity and attracted record tourists last year. In addition to the natural attractions, the two cities offer a wide tourist structure to visitors.
