The meetings support the work done in the states by the Ministry of Tourism interlocutors and leaders of the Tourist Governance Bodies (IRG’s), which form the Brazilian Tourism Map.
The meeting was supported by the State Secretariat of Tourism and had state tourism industry interlocutors from all 27 Federative Units, as well as representatives from the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), Barreirinhas City Hall (MA). , the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), Barreirinhas Businessmen Association, Lençóis Guide Association and Lençóis and Delta Superintendence.
At the event, the interlocutors debated the current tourism scenario and presented success stories of the governance instance of the state of Maranhão. Ministry technicians spoke about the actions taken by Pasta in 2019 and about the importance of categorization and Cadastur. Criteria for updating the Tourism Map for 2021 were also discussed, such as the municipality presenting a plan validated by the municipal tourism council and the formalized Regional Governance Body, also presenting a work plan for each IGR.
During the occasion, technical visits were made to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park and the municipality of Caburé, where managers discussed the implementation and operationalization of the voucher in the municipalities of Barreirinhas (MA), together with the Association of Residents of the Communities of Mandacaru, Brooms and Caburé.
According to the director of MTur’s Tourism Planning department, Silvana Melo, the interlocutors play a fundamental role in the implementation of the PRT.
“They act in an articulated manner, forming the National Network of Regionalization, a source of exchange of experiences, exchange and innovation,” said the director.
The mobilization of this network seeks to stimulate the strengthening of participatory tourism planning and management processes; promote the necessary articulations for the structuring of tourist destinations; disseminate guidelines and strategies from the perspective of the PRT; encourage the creation of spaces for exchange of experiences and market intelligence.
The interlocutor of the state of Santa Catarina, Ana Paula Schveitzer, stressed the importance of certification issued by MTur.
“It is a way of recognizing the work of the interlocutors with the governance bodies and encouraging them to find innovative results through new methodologies that serve the entire country,” he said.
For Diego Beserra, PRT state interlocutor in Mato Grosso, the meetings strengthen the leading role of each unit of the federation.
“Decentralizing the process of regionalization makes the chain more productive. At each meeting we discover new actions, absorb and adapt the information to our state reality and take as an experience for regional and municipal dialogue,” said Beserra.
