Technicians from the Ministry of Tourism, Brazil were in Paraty and Angra dos Reis, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, to oversee accommodations in order to make providers aware of the importance of registering with Cadastur (Register of Tourism Service Providers).
During three days of inspection, 96 hotels and inns from both municipalities were visited and notified by the agents to provide the regularization in the MTur system. The technical visits were preceded by remote work that notified 145 service providers in the municipalities. In total, 241 lodgings were inspected.
Lodging facilities are among the mandatory tourist services in Cadastur. Currently, 1,502 establishments are registered in the state of Rio de Janeiro, 337 of them in the two visited municipalities.
In addition to assuring guests to hire a formalized service at the Ministry of Tourism, the registration of accommodation contributes to the categorization of destinations in the Brazilian Tourism Map. Paraty and Angra dos Reis, are destinations of category “A” that represents the capitals and municipalities with the largest tourist flow, largest number of establishments, jobs and federal tax collection in the lodging sector.
Most Ministry of Tourism programs and actions targeting municipalities and entrepreneurs, such as project financing, require the Cadastur number. In addition to ensuring several advantages and business opportunities, the Tourism Service Provider Register is also an important source of consultation for tourists, with more than 90,000 service providers.
In addition to the means of accommodation, tourist registration services are considered mandatory tourism agencies and guides, carriers and tourist camps, theme parks and event organizers. Registration is free and must be done online. To register, one can simply access the site , fill out the electronic form and follow the instructions to obtain the certificate with the number of Cadastur.
