In keeping with the rich colonial heritage of Hong Kong, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong offers an Afternoon Tea experience to rival the best of London. Now aficionados have another reason to visit, as the Afternoon Tea concept gets a makeover, elevating the art of tea in this storied tradition.
Since the Hotel opened in 2005, guests to The Lounge, the all-day dining restaurant of Four Seasons, have spent blissful afternoons nibbling finger sandwiches, Devonshire clotted cream, homemade seasonal jams, and one of the most delicious scones in town. Now, working with the pioneering luxury tea brand Tealeaves, The Lounge unveils an enhanced selection of seasonal and traditional tea offerings, tea cocktails, as well as pastry and savoury bites inspired by the seasonal tea selection.
The opening seasonal tea selection includes Lavender Earl Grey, Energy Herbal, Mountain Berry and Imperial. In addition to 12 traditional tea varieties, guests can enjoy the seasonal teas served hot or in original iced tea infusions. For those who fancy a delightfully boozy afternoon, they can top up with a glass of Champagne Ruinart Blanc de Blancs at HKD 185 or pick one of the three tea cocktails crafted by award-winning bartenders at Blue Bar, each priced at HKD 135. One on the menu, The Russian Earl Grey, is concocted with Belvedere vodka infused Russian Earl Grey tea, chocolate liqueur, Tia Maria and vanilla syrup.
Food items on the tea stand are further inspired by the seasonal flavours of the tea menu. For savoury items, Italian Executive Chef Andrea Accordi gave a floral spin to his creation, adding lavender jelly to foie gras while Pastry Chef Ringo Chan whipped up a berry tea moist cake and Imperial Oolong crème with poached white peach.
A new tea experience comes to Afternoon Tea in The Lounge, where conversation flows to the melodies of the piano and hands are warmed by steaming cups of tea and the rays of the late day sun.
Afternoon Tea at The Lounge is served from 3:00 to 5:00 pm daily and is priced HKD 275 per person and HKD 535 for two. On weekends, Afternoon Tea is priced at HKD 295 per person and HKD 570 for two.
