The sportive will take place on the morning of May 20 and will start in Royal Avenue, before taking in the country lanes of the Chew and Somer Valleys, before the cyclists return to the City for a unique finish under the Tour Series gantry on Great Pulteney Street.
Olympic gold medallist Dani King is the Ambassador for the Bath round of the Tour Series and the Love 2 Cycle Bath and North East Somerset Sportive. As her role as Ambassador Dani wants to encourage as many people as possible to choose cycling as either a leisure activity or as a way of commuting to work in Bath and North East Somerset and hopefully take part in some of the fantastic cycling events that are planned for 20th May.
Robert Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer, Bristol Airport said:
“We are delighted to have teamed up with KLM to support The Tour Series when it visits Bath on 20 May 2017. To have such a high profile sporting event taking place in the centre of Bath will provide the opportunity for race-goers or visitors to the event to enjoy the attractions and hospitality Bath and the surrounding area has to offer. We are particularly excited about the new Love 2 Cycle Sportive which will travel through the Chew Valley very near to the airport.”
Councillor Tim Warren (Conservative, Mendip), Leader of the Council, said:
“It’s great to welcome Bristol Airport and KLM on board as sponsors for the Tour Series once again. This builds on a successful partnership we’ve developed over the past few years.”
