Chinese travelersChinese travelers Chinese tourists love travelling to Britain, but their favourite destinations within the UK might surprise many.

Currently, only seven per cent of Chinese citizens own a passport, but given their ever-increasing population, this actually accounts for 99 million people.

By 2030, it is estimated that China will comprise almost a quarter of global tourism.
In 2017, 145 million overseas trips were made by Chinese residents, going up from 41 million 10 years ago in 2007.

VisitBritain said that the UK attracts 260,000 Chinese tourists every year. The national tourism agency also said that the most popular activities for Chinese visitors were visiting museums or art galleries, visiting parks and gardens, and also going shopping.

The top destination in the UK is Buckingham Palace. It interests the Chinese visitors to a great extent. Bicester Village is the second favorite destination for the Chinese tourists.

The large retail estate in Oxfordshire attracts three in four Chinese visitors by rail. Others travel by tour bus. Now, the shopping centre even has signs in Mandarin for assistance of Chinese tourists. Chinese tourists flood to the retail estate due to their love of shopping.

Also very popular with Chinese visitors is King’s College, Cambridge. Also on the to-do list for Chinese tourists are stately home Chatsworth House in Derbyshire and Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.
