BA would be placing its flight codes on many of the European destinations of Finnair including the new non-stop flights from Gatwick to Kittila and Ivalo located in Lapland that would start functioning for the winter from 12th December and 14th December respectively.
Finnair would be placing its codes on the British Airways flights between Tallinn and Heathrow, Gothenburg and Copenhagen.
And the new codeshares attempt to raise the connectivity for both carriers through their Helsinki and London hubs.
The two airlines work jointly with Japan Airlines and Iberia for flights to Japan and also American Airlines for flights over the Atlantic.
Rishi Kapoor who is the BA head of alliances have mentioned that they are elated to provide their customers an increased number of choices for destinations between Japan and Europe with Finnair as part of their joint partnership with JAL and Iberia as well as the opportunity to fly directly to Lapland from London Gatwick this winter.
Philip Lewin who is the Finnair head of partnerships said that the extension of their codeshare agreement with British Airways marks an excellent news for their customers since it would be granting them more opportunities to choose from while booking their travels.
