Adorning vivid colours of Nalli’s exclusively woven silk sarees, British Airways touched down at Chennai International Airport on 27 October, 2013 at 0330hours marking the arrival of its sixth direct service to Chennai. Creating a unique and memorable experience, this is for the first time a British Airways aircraft landed with a beautiful traditional saree cascading down through its cockpit, embracing the true spirit of the South Indian culture and celebrating 25 years of flying to Chennai.
Adding tradition and rich heritage to its grand arrival, the aircraft was decorated in vibrant red and blue Kanchipuram sarees iconic of the British Airways brand, created especially by Nalli, known for their legacy in traditional silk sarees in India. British Airways’ 84 years of heritage in India blended perfectly with Nalli Silk Sarees, a brand with 85 years of legacy and rich equity in South India.
