The airlines would be restoring around 10 p.m. departure from Philadelphia International Airport on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. For about 19 years, British Airways had operated two daily flights, but had eliminated the 10 p.m. departure in March.
This airliner declared that it would be operating 10 flights every week up from just 7 flights from Philadelphia, from 9th April.
The airline, however, did not mention if the flight services would be seasonal or be operating throughout the year. British Airways has been operating the 10 p.m. flight since May 1998. It was quite popular with business travellers who could get a full day in Philadelphia and a full day in London.
The late flight would be leaving London Heathrow at 5 p.m. and would arrive in Philadelphia at 7.55 p.m.
Currently, British Airways operates around 6.30 p.m. flight to London and would be arriving at 6.35 a.m. the following day and departs from London at 12.40 p.m. It would then be arriving here around 3.25 p.m.
Jeffrey Erlbaum who is the president of ETA Travel in Conshohocken said that the flight is very popular owing to the times as it is ideal for corporate travel. But then, this would be more geared towards leisure tourists.
He added that this flight would be the latest one back from Europe to Philadelphia.
