Thanks to a unique initiative of Nikolina Angelkova, the Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria, over 400,000 greetings cards have been decided to be sent to international travellers who had visited Bulgaria.
This special initiative aims to thank the foreign guests for selecting Bulgaria as their most favored destination for their vacations, as reported by the national news media channel of this part of the world.
Furthermore, it is also the next step in the work of the ministry in creating the image of Bulgaria that offers the most superior quality of tourism product, as has been announced by the Ministry of Tourism on 3rd September, 2017.
They have mentioned that tourists receiving the special cards would be chosen randomly.
Thereafter the cards would be allocated proportionally across the nation. Then, the cards would be sent in the following days until the end of the summer holidays season.
The card portrays a postage stamp dedicated to the year 2017, the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. The philatelic edition would be the message of Bulgaria during the 22nd session of the General Assembly of the UN’s World Tourism Organization in Chengdu in China.
The front portion of the card depicts some frescoes from the Thracian Kazanlak tomb and Rila Monastery.
Alongside the wonderfully ornate fragments, the card also contains a special message signed personally by Nikolina Angelkova, the Minister of Tourism saying ‘Thank you for choosing Bulgaria’.
As per the recent statistics, about 5 million foreign tourists had arrived in Bulgaria in the January to July period that had reported a rise of 7.2% as compared to the same period in 2016.
This actually confirms that the Ministry of Tourism had appropriately forecast the increase in this sector from 7% to 10%.
