The Christmas tree is up and the festive cheer of Christmas has truly arrived at London’s Marylebone station, home of Chiltern Railways. On the first Friday of December, passengers at Marylebone station were treated to the lively sounds of a live 4-hour ‘Buskathon;’ a high-energy, musical celebration and fundraiser.
Buskathon was staged by fostering and adoption charity Home for Good as part of their fundraising activity.
Chiltern Railways’ Managing Director Rob Brighouse explained:
“Chiltern Railways works with a number of charities throughout the year and we felt that staging Buskathon at our station was a perfect way to share the message of fostering and adoption with our passengers. Some of our staff are adoptive parents so it’s a special time of year to think about the joy and happiness of providing a home for a vulnerable child.”
Home for Good Founder and Director Krish Kandiah said:
“We’re really grateful to Chiltern Railways and to Rob in particular for the use of Marylebone station at this busy time. It was a great evening; the performers enjoyed it and more importantly, so did the passengers – it was a thrill to use the station’s piano too!”
