The Boeing 757-200 which took off from Los Angeles was on its way to Minneapolis when the brawl, which the company put down to ‘work issues’, happened.
The Aviation Herald reported that the incident happened on January 22.
The captain of the flight was informed of the disorderly situation at 37,000 ft who then made an emergency landing at Salt Lake City, Utah. After the landing, the airlines dismissed three staff.
In a statement, Delta said: “We apologise to those customers who were inconvenienced after flight 2598 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis made an unscheduled stop in Salt Lake City following an altercation involving two flight attendants on board.”
The plane, carrying around 300 passengers, compensated its customers with air miles or a travel voucher.
