During the January-September period this year, Vietnam topped the chart among the top 10 arrivals to Cambodia with 695,670 tourists, up 0.1 percent, followed by China with 577,280 tourists, up 12.5 percent, and South Korean visitors at third with 263,880, down 11 percent.
Tourism is one of the four pillars supporting the economy. Last year, the country greeted 4.78 million international tourists, earning a gross revenue of more than 3 billion U.S. dollars.
Cambodia is famous for two cultural sites in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List: 12th century Angkor archaeological park and 11th century Preah Vihear Temple.
It also has a number of attractive eco-tourism sites, including a 450-km pristine coastline stretching across four provinces in the country’s southwestern part.
