According to Destination Canada’s latest year-end highlights, this region has been a spectator to a remarkable increase in the Indian tourist arrivals who visited the region in large numbers in the year 2016.
Over 215,664 Indian visitors had arrived in this country in the period between January and December 2016, representing a magnificent growth of nearly 13.2% as compared to the year 2015. SanJeet, the Indian representative of Destination Canada said that such a huge rise in tourist arrivals from the country of India portrays that Indians have started exploring Canada extensively.
Also, it indicates that Canada has been promoted to a considerable extent with the travel trade and even with the consumers.
The country is quite optimistic that the steady growth would be maintained this year as well and this fact is quite special as Canada turns 150. In 2016, Destination Canada India office had carried out a few extensive market reach programs that include familiarization trips, networking sessions, social media campaigns, digital campaigns, and consumer activations.
The reports from the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) state that Canada had welcomed about 20 million tourists in 2016 that marks a 14-year high.
In the year 2015, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada had set a 5-year industry goal of ushering in as much as 20 million tourists to the nation by 2020.
