Car blocks railway track on a busy line near Glasgow

Glasgow-car-blockA car has blocked railway tracks on a very busy railway line that is close to Glasgow.


The tiny red Kia Picanto had ended up on the tracks at Bowling after reportedly crashing through a fence. The car has been blocking this railway line thereby triggering a great deal of commotion and creating inconvenience for the railway commuters.


One of the regional news media agencies has reported that a train driver was compelled to apply the brakes with an aim to avert a collision with the car.


Scotrail mentioned that the train services are likely to be disrupted till 8 p.m. tonight while meanwhile the authorities would deal with the situation.


Around 5.30 p.m. Scotrail mentioned in a microblogging site that the car might have been removed and that the services would start returning to normal. A majority of the affected services include Airdie to Balloch, Edinburgh to Helensburg and Cumbernauld to Dumbarton Central.


Scotrail has also added in the microblogging site about its latest plans to install replacement bus service3s from Dalmuir.
