baghdad-bombingsISIS bombings have claimed 35 lives and injured as many as 61 yesterday across Baghdad. The ISIS have claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The death toll is steadily rising.

According to a premier radio channel of America, the first bomb attack was suffered in Sadr City that is located on the edge of Baghdad on Saturday. The bomber had pretended to be arranging for casual laborers for the day and therefore the people who were killed in the incident were mainly poor manual workers.

The next bombings were reported around the same time close to two hospitals in the city.

However, this was again followed by three bombs in the city, in the region of the poor locality of Shaab.

According to a popular media house, at least 35 people were dead and 61 injured in the Sadr City bomb blast. The neighborhood of this city predominantly belongs to Shia Muslims. The media house also declared that the Sunni jihadist group Islamic State said that it conducted the attack and it had targeted mainly the Shia Muslims.

Nine of the victims were women who had been travelling in a passing minibus.

The charred bodies of the women were clearly visible inside the vehicle that was badly burnt and the ground nearby was smeared with blood.

The attacks followed other bombings in the city on Saturday that killed 28 people. It has also been learnt from a certain media website that an attack near Najaf city has killed seven policemen.

The bombings on Monday have coincided with an Iraq visit by Francois Hollande, the President of France.

Hollande addressed a press conference thereafter, wherein he promised to defeat the ISIS.
