It was recently announced that three officers of the Azamara Club will join its new ship, Azamara Pursuit in August 2018.
Carl Smith senior captain and cruise director Tony Markey from UK will work in collaboration with the hotel director Ryszrad Gusmann from Poland to lead a crew of around 400.
Richard Twynam, UK&I managing director for Azamara Club Cruises said that the three chosen officers for Pursuit have 30 years’ of experience with Azamara and they are passionate about travel and the Destination Immersion ethos.
They are ideal for the roles and some of them are popular with the loyal guests and hence will help Azamara to succeed.
Last week it was announced that the ship will be christened in Southampton and the fact that two of the Pursuit’s officers are from UK will help in the creation of a strong presence in the launch and future of Azamara Pursuit as the demand from the UK guests is higher than ever.
Smith had joined the brand in 2007 and was originally from the Isle of Man had sailed Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. He will be sailing the Azamara Pursuit, he has earlier worked with it in 2003 when it was under different ownership.
Markey had joined the Azamara Club Cruises in 2008, he is originally from Newcastle upon Tyne and will be responsible for the onboard entertainment and activities.
Gusmann has been with Azamara since its launch in May 2007 and will oversee the hotel department of the ship including the food and beverage, housekeeping and guest relations.
