Carlson Rezidor, one of the most dynamic and largest hotel groups worldwide, strengthens its portfolio in The Netherlands and announces the Radisson Blu Palace Hotel Noordwijk aan Zee in one of the most famous seaside resorts of the country.
The existing property with 120 rooms will fly the Radisson Blu flag in February 2014 and bring Carlson Rezidor’s portfolio in the Benelux region to 15 properties in operation and under development. Radisson Blu is Europe’s largest upper upscale hotel brand.“We are delighted to welcome the Palace Hotel which is a local landmark and flagship in Noordwijk.
Such high quality conversions are an essential part of our Route 2015 programme – targeting increased profitability and an uplift of our EBITDA margin by 6-8% by the year 2015”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor.“As an independent hotel we were always looking into new possibilities to drive our business. At the beginning of this year we decided to intensely analyse the possibilities of partnering with a reputed hotel chain while maintaining our own identity.
Three main points were crucial for our decision to go for Radisson Blu: a strong focus on the MICE market, a broad international orientation, and lots of opportunities for our employees”, commented André Aaij, General Manager of the Palace Hotel. The Radisson Blu Palace Hotel is located in the centre of Noordwijk aan Zee, considered as “Beach of Amsterdam” due to its beautiful 13 kilometers coastline.
The beachfront and promenade are just a stone’s throw away, and also Noordwijk’s main shopping and retail area as well as several beach bars and restaurants are within walking distance.Besides 120 rooms with Radisson Blu signature services such as free high speed internet access, the hotels offers a brasserie with terrace, an à-la-carte restaurant and a bar, 1,200 square meters of event facilities including eleven flexible meeting rooms and two board rooms, as well as wellness facilities with eight treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool with sauna, steam bath and whirlpools, and a 450m² fitness room.
Noordwijk, located in the west of The Netherlands, between The Hague and Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport is 25 kilometres away), is one of the richest cities in the country. It also belongs to the national top three MICE destinations, and complements the leading corporate offer with a strong leisure performance. Main feeder markets are the Benelux region, Germany, the UK and Scandinavia.
