Dense fog around Galveston in Texas, forced three cruise ships of the Carnival Cruise Line to delay the departure time, shorten the journey and change the itineraries on the second week of January, 2017.
Initially on 14th January, Saturday, the Carnival Freedom was supposed to depart on a seven-night Western Caribbean cruising trip from Galveston and the Carnival Valor was supposed to depart from the port on the very same day on a five-night Western Caribbean cruising trip. Apart from these ships, the Carnival Breeze that was supposed to depart on a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage on 15th January, Sunday, was also affected by the dense sheet of fog that surrounded the entire area.
The Carnival Valor cruise had to depart on 15th January, Sunday and the trip was also shorten to a four-day cruising trip instead of five, where the Carnival Freedom had to depart on 15th January as well and they too shortened the cruising trip to six days instead of seven.
The voyagers on the Carnival Breeze also received a revised itinerary, which said that the cruise would leave the port on 16th January and the itinerary was also shortened to six days instead of seven nights.
The Carnival Cruise Line also had to modify the itinerary of all the cruises, where some of the places had to be erased from the itineraries.
