Carol Elvin, a Canberra woman got recently praised by Tourism Australia for her sincere attempts to represent Canberra in the best light to the world by sharing images to the millions on her Instagram account.
Carol was recognized among users of social media who promoted the nation with those perfect shots as explained by Chloe Knight-Gregson, Tourism Australia’s social media producer. To quote Chloe, ‘’ We often talk at Tourism Australia about having the largest social media team in the world, thanks to the many passionate Australians who share just amazing content with us. Carol is one of those unsung heroes, a real gem. She doesn’t have any formal training as a photographer, but is passionate about Canberra and has developed a real knack for capturing the city and surrounds in ways that really resonate with our followers. Her shots stand out amongst the thousands submitted to us every day because they so perfectly capture what every season in Canberra represents.’’
She also said, ‘’On her Instagram profile you’ll find snapshots of kangaroos posing in the mist on frosty winter mornings, trees bright with autumn hues lining Lake Burley Griffin, and colorful summer sunsets from the top of Mount Ainslie. She calls then ‘simple snaps’, but several of her photos have gone on to be shared with over 2.5 million of our Instagram followers. Not bad for a hobby.
