Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is pleased to announce its lineup of international golf tournaments for 2017. Watch the greats take to the course on one of the luxury resort’s three legendary courses designed by famed golf architect, Pete Dye, where there is always a willing champion to be crowned.
Kicking off the 2017 season are three ever-popular Pro Am tournaments: the 33rd Annual Caribbean International Pro Am I from January 10-15, 2017, the 43rd Annual International Pro Am from January 17-22, 2017, and the 30th Annual Caribbean International Pro Am II from February 26 – March 3, 2017. The tournaments will see teams divided into flights according to the total team handicap with prizes awarded in each flight for net and gross winners, plus overall gross and net champions.
Later in the spring, The 13th Annual Spring Shootout is an annual favorite at Casa de Campo, has become the most popular spring event in the Caribbean. The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play tournament using Stableford Scoring with net and gross divisions in each flight. The Shootout will be played on the Teeth of the Dog, the remodeled Links and Dye Fore. The men’s field will be divided evenly into five flights and the ladies will do battle within three evenly divided flights according to handicaps. A minimum of 20% of the players in each flight including the net and gross winners will compete in a shootout on Saturday afternoon. The shootout will be played on the Teeth of the Dog. A number of players will be eliminated on each hole until we end up with two men and two ladies. These four players will play number 9 on the Teeth of the Dog until we crown an overall man and lady champion.
The fall brings the 3rd Annual Casa de Campo Pro-Am, an event opened to all golf professionals and their amateurs who are interested in experiencing the best golf in the Caribbean. The tournament will be a 54-hole team event played on two Pete Dye courses, the Teeth of the Dog ranked in the top 50 in the world and the breath taking Dye Fore. A team must consist of four amateur golfers (men or women) with an official index and a Golf Professional. The round on Dye Fore will be one net best ball, the round on Teeth of the Dog will be one net and one gross best ball (can not use the same golf ball) and the final round on the Teeth of the Dog will be two net best balls. Teams will be divided into flights according to the total team handicap. Prizes will be awarded in each flight plus for the overall team champion.
As always, tournament packages will be offered for all of these tournament events, which in addition to great golf will also feature excellent culinary experiences and glorious weather. Packages include breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily with no surcharge; unlimited drinks in all hotel bars, restaurants, and oasis bars; carts on the golf courses for the guests’ entire stay; a welcome dinner and awards banquet; unlimited green fees, carts, range balls, and club storage; and tournament entry fees, favors, and prizes. Ground transportation from all three area airports (LRM, PJU, SDQ) is also included in the package rate, which is a savings of over $100.00 USD per person. Golf is unlimited for all tournament participants.
