Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort, in Lagos, has just joined IAGTO (The Global Golf Tourism Organisation) – the world’s leading golf tourism association, which has brought together nearly 2400 members from 95 countries throughout its 20-year old history.
By joining this association, Cascade Resort will become part of a global network of professionals and organizations related to golf tourism, which is guided by the highest possible standards and, last year alone, generated business amounting to 2.5 billion dollars.
Thus, thanks to further international promotion, Cascade Resort expects its golf performance academy to attract more tourists, as well as improve the experience offered to golf players, by gaining access to the latest knowledge and innovations in the golf market, as well as in the golf focused hospitality industry.
According to Fernando Horta, general manager of Cascade Resort, the fact that the resort joined IAGTO “reflects our drive to attract more and better business, but also our ambition to offer more and better services to our customers”, adding that “our investment in the renovation of the resort’s greens and gardens are the recent inauguration of the golf performance academy in partnership with Elite Golf Academies are proof of that”.
“At Cascade Resort, all amateur or professional golf players will find the necessary conditions to improve their performance. In addition to offering a number of infrastructures which include a driving range which is 350 meters in length, a short game area that has been re-designed to allow a variety of shots from 110 yards and in and a putting green located on top of a cliff with unique views over the sea, our academy is able to reduce the learning curve thanks to a combined shot data and body posture analysis technology.
The academy is supported with the best technology available like Trackman and MySwing 3D. This allows PGA qualified professionals to apply the necessary corrections or promote the physical recovery of players in the Resort’s Spa. Furthermore, these excellent conditions led the famous Callaway brand to open its first National Fitting Centre in Portugal at our facilities.” as stated by Steve Bainbridge, Elite Golf Academy director.
