Little ones can delight in dressing up their favourite gingerbread characters this holiday season as Mandarin Oriental, Singapore offers cookie icing sessions at MELT ~ The World Café during the much loved Sunday Brunch on 6 and 13 December 2015.
Not only can younger fans enjoy tantalising thin-crust pizzas, miniature sandwiches, grilled chicken, chips, juices and ice cream, as part of the usual brunch selection, they can also look forward to an entertaining afternoon of decorating gingerbread men and women cookies, alongside award-winning Pastry Chef Desmond Lee.
A staple in holiday baking traditions, gingerbread men and women cookies have remained a hallmark of festive goodies for decades. Children can let their imagination run free and allow their creativity to take over, as they spruce up freshly-baked gingerbread cookies with an assortment of colourful treats, such as jelly beans or chocolate chip eyes, and candied gum drop buttons. Finally, add finishing touches of creamy butter icing coupled with a sprinkle of powdered sugar to complete the fantastic edible treat, which they can take home as a festive keepsake.
Available at MELT ~ The World Café exclusively on 6 and 13 December 2015, Sunday Brunch starts from 12.00pm to 3.00pm and is priced at SGD 108 per person inclusive of free-flow juices and soft drinks, and SGD 158 per person inclusive of free-flow Veuve Cliquot champagne, wines, beer, juices and soft drinks. Children below 7 can dine for free; brunch for children aged 7 to 9 is priced at SGD 32, whereas brunch for children aged 10 to 12 is priced at SGD 54.
