This Global Wellness Day join the movement at Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca and celebrate the importance of wellness. The Hotel will join forces with other Four Seasons properties around the world who will also propose different wellness activities on June 11, 2016.
On Global Wellness day, from the sunrise in New Zealand until the sunset in Hawaii, more than 4,000 institutions in 87 countries will propose free activities to encourage more than 250 million people to walk, run and dance to feel good in their mind, body and spirit. This is a social movement without any commercial purpose andFour Seasons Hotels and Resorts is proud to partner with Global Wellness Day to highlight the company’s vast wellness initiatives and outstanding spas within the portfolio.
Taking advantage of its direct setting on the Atlantic Ocean, Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca proposes a sunset yoga on the beach in partnership with Om Yoga centre. The class will offer a combination of Hatha and Yin yoga, exploring both asana postures as well as static postures derived from Yin yoga. Breathing exercises will open the course and an introduction to meditation will complete the session.
Based on postural practice of asana and pranayama breathing, Hatha Yoga is the branch of yoga that is the most physical. This type of yoga allows beginners to take their time to find their rhythm, the basics of yoga postures and breathing. It also suits those who take up a physical activity after a long pause, for seniors or for those who suffer from fatigue or stress. The postures can be static. When they are dynamic they can be practiced in a specific sequence, often times based on a specific breathing technique. The emphasis is on breathing.
The strong points:
Yin yoga includes twenty postures. These are practiced mostly on the ground and are held for a few minutes, during which time the focus is on breathing, meditation and sensations.
Guests are then invited to enjoy a complimentary detox juice at Latitude 33, the Hotel’s poolside lounge. For those practicing Ramadan, the signature restaurant Bleu will propose a healthy corner as part of the daily iftar buffet.
