Today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur urged K.J. Alphons, the Union Minister for Tourism at New Delhi, and requested his sanction up on three schemes of Rs. 300 crore of the State government to endorse religious tourism circuit in the state, endorse eco-adventure tourism to draw attention to the picturesque and virgin tourism spots on world tourism map. Also, he invited Union Minister of State for Tourism to Himachal Pradesh and explained that he himself will escort him to the tourist destinations of the State.
Shri K.J. Alphons enthusiastically accepted the invitation of the Chief Minister. The Union Minister of State for Tourism made certain the Chief Minister that the Union Government will use up all relevant support to this hill state for utilization and expansion of its potential in terms of tourism. He expressed contentment that Himachal Pradesh was raising as a preferred destination because of its calm and pollution free environment, its rich culture and furthermore friendly people and because of Dev Bhoomi, its religious places were the centre of attraction and belief to the devotees. Minister of State for Tourism in the meeting directed the Officers of his department to request State officials to Delhi for offering presentation on growth and potential of tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
