Catherine Afeku, the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Ghana, has recently revealed highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu as the tourism ambassador of Ghana to the world. He is commonly known as Daddy Lumba.
A section of the stakeholders associated with the creative industry described Fosu as one of the talented Ghanaian and most adored musician in the country. He is anticipated to utilize his personality, brand along with music in order to sell the potential of Ghana tourism to the world.
Side by side, he is also supposed to utilize his brand in marketing and promotion of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture activities at the time of his reign.
On Wednesday, while speaking at the unveiling ceremony organized at the Tourism Ministry Madam Afeku said that she is quite happy to have Daddy Lumba as one of the ambassadors.
She divulged that her ministry has identified a policy to reveal 50 tourism ambassadors in which the initial names of the thirty of the ambassadors were disclosed in Tamale during the celebration of the World Tourism Day.
The main target of the tourism ambassador programme is to influence famous personalities to propel the growth of tourism in and outside the country.
Daddy Lumba, who was tremendously eager about the ambassadorial contract with the Tourism Ministry, emphasized his preparedness to project and market the several tourism potentials of the country on various international platforms.
The highlife musician side by side also promised that he would equally utilize his many networks to endorse Ghana’s tourism industry worldwide.
He guaranteed that the sector minister of his management’s preparedness to partner with the ministry to improve the promotion and development of tourism in the country.
